UA Men’s Wheelchair Basketball on Path to Back-to-Back National Championships

The 2018-2019 season for the University of Alabama Men’s Wheelchair Basketball team has been nothing short of magical. With a nearly perfect conference record of 9-1, a dominating 3-0 presence over their rival, Auburn, and an overall record of 19-3, the Men’s Wheelchair Basketball team of Alabama are on course to defend their title of National Champions this year in another title game. What makes this team such a powerhouse? It starts with the five seniors that make up half the roster and Alabama’s ability to score. Alabama has outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points when they win, but fall short by an average of 11 points when they lose. The regular season is counting down to the Powerade Invitationals, College Classics, and then the National Championships, but Alabama could be in trouble as they appear to be losing some steam. They only have three loses, and two have come from their last four games. The last two games of the regular season will be played in Illinois this weekend and from these we’ll see what kind shape the team is in.
